Memorable singing moments!

Hi Singers!

I love Reddit! It’s an incredible community of curious individuals sharing the questions, stories, and concerns they’re currently struggling with. The fact that all these strangers can come together and share their own insights and experiences, it’s incredibly helpful. The feedback posters and readers get can be invaluable. I know whenever I need help making a decision about a large purchase I’ll turn to Reddit to see if anyone else has already made that purchase and if it was worth it. This week, I turned to Reddit to see if anyone had questions about singing, and they did!

  1. Is anyone naturally talented?

Sure! But even if you’re born with the best ear, strong breath support, and relaxed singing anatomy…actually no one is born with perfect vocal technique. You can have natural talent and potential and maybe a more gifted ear or tone, but even the most naturally gifted can learn a lot in vocal lessons. The rest of us mere humans can also become incredibly talented singers by committing to voice lessons and practicing in-between.

If you have a dream of becoming a singer, don’t let the lack of natural talent stop you from pursuing your dreams. Find a voice teacher who can guide you through the processing of finding your voice and learning how to properly use it.

  1. What’s more important: performance or technique?

Both! Let’s say, both. Why not? Your audience deserves a stellar performance from a trained singer. And you can be that trained performer!

Let’s say you are born with such a gifted voice, but you’re too shy to share it. A vocal coach can help you find your way out of shyness and into performance.

Or maybe you’re a natural performer but you sing like a goose…well a voice teacher can teach you how to access your voice and train your ear so that you can be a songbird instead!

  1. Your most memorable singing moment?

I want to hear yours! Please share below. For me, I got to sing “God Bless the Broken Road” at my mom’s wedding this past October. It was such a beautiful and special experience. I felt really honored to be able to share my voice on their special day. I hope you’ll be able to have an experience like that too!

Until next time, keep learning, keep growing, and keep sharing your voice - we want to hear it!
