Joanne Ledesma
Joanne Ledesma is a California native from music industry legacy. She is recognized as a key music industry insider, due to consistent placement of music in multiple genres and multiple outlets, i.e.: film, TV, games, corporate, in-flight, and special events, etc. Her unique "hands-on" networking approach and dedication to the community is currently the subject of a 2 hour documentary film to be created in 2008. Ms. Ledesmas' background stems from the San Gabriel Valley where she grew up in the footsteps of her brother, bassist Danniel "D.A." Ledesma, whose legendary backyard jams hosted a plethora of emerging bands in the 1970's. These sessions gave birth to some major talent, such as Victor Bisetti (Los Lobos, commercials), John Avila (Producer, bassist-Oingo Boingo, El Chicano) Mike Albert (Guitarist- Megadeth, El Chicano) Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez (drummer- Oingo Boingo, Tito & the Tarantulas) Joey Delgado (Guitarist-Delgado Bros., John Mayall), Sam Avila (Walter Trout), Bobby Robles (The Midnighters, Ginger Baker Jr. Trio) Mike Tovar (Food For Feet), Luis Ruiz (John Corbin, Felony, Eric Carmen), Carlos De La Paz (Real Women Have Curver-soundtrack) Gerry Salas ( Singer- El Chicano) John Paul Villalobos ( Celia Cruz, Machina Loca), Dave Vasquez/Anthony Lopez/Pierre Larson (Riverboat Band) Anthony Lopez (Tracy G (Dio) Poncho Sanchez, The Banda Brothers, and many more.
Miss Ledesma started playing keyboards in the pre-digital era of the 1980's analog music (Rhodes, Juno 106, Yamaha DX7) In 1984 she graduated from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut California with an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and an emphasis in Music. In 1986 she attended San Jose State University and was the only female who studied in the newly formed Electro Acoustic program with reknown Professor Strange. It was that program that thrusted Miss. Ledesma into the forefront of music technology. Analog Vs. Digital recording, digital software, digital programming and digital production were the focus of her studies their as she honed her production and acoustic sound skills.
In the new millium Miss. Ledesma worked for over three years as the Coordinator for Audio Programming at Disc Marketing Inc. under the guidance of Tena Clark, CEO and Songwriter/Composer (Dionne Warwick, Patti Labelle, Hal David, Burt Bacharach). The Audio Programming department created custom audio shows for clients like United Airlines, America West Airlines, Macys, Regal Cinemas, Casinos and more. The job entailed coordinating Airline Entertainment Guides and music channels with Voice Overs, Hosts, Scriptwriters, Producers, Engineers, Publicists, Managers, Record Labels and Artists. Ms Ledesma was responsible for key interviews and recruitement of artists like Carlos Santana, Andrea Bochelli, Tom Petty, Richie Furay, Joe Walsh, John Doe, Bootsy Collins, Chicago, David Crosby, Graham Nash, KISS, Mana, Carmen Rizzo, and many others. Ms. Ledesma was instrumental to bringing in new composers, songwriters and music when the company added a Music Library (Rescue Records/Five Alarm Music) to their umbrella as well as liscensing artists to thier Corporate projects (Kelloggs, Target, Toyota).
With an earful of musical talent and the close relationshships maintained from her community She became involved in the careers of her friends. Years of dedication, and brilliant networking led Joanne to run her own grassroots company, Joanne Ledesma Entertainment. The focus today is on music placement, education, consulting, publishing, producing, managment and artist development. Her experience and knowledge of music analysis makes Miss Ledesma a distinguished A&R Rep for the world’s largest A&R Company, Taxi Music. (www.CitrusCollege.edu). In the Spring of 2007 Miss. Ledema created the groundbreaking radio show Music Biz Radio which airs weekly on www.AdviceRadio.com and www.AdrenalineRadio.com March 2008 Miss. Ledesma accepted a partership with Music Industry Television where she creates, produces and host several of the program channels and networks with strategic alliances.
